What to expect when looking for a therapist

Low-income residents of Utah County live in a federally designated mental health professional shortage area (HRSA, updated May 2026), and some training clinics post multi-month waits for individual therapy. It can help to contact several providers at once, ask about telehealth, and check your insurance plan's directory.
