Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) - Co-Founder & Clinical Director
About Rochelle McLelland
Rochelle McLelland is co-founder and Clinical Director of Roots Counseling. Together with her husband Milton, she created Roots Counseling in 2016. What began as a side business has now become their full-time job. Rochelle also began her career in mental health counseling (CMHC) with Southwest Behavioral Health. She had great opportunities to learn and grow as she worked with adult clients. She was thrown into learning and teaching Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and has loved it ever since. It has been great to use the skills learned to create a foundation for Roots Counseling to build from.
Rochelle also spent time directing the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, which gave her great opportunities to work with families and youth and develop her skills there. Rochelle is also trained in EMDR and IFS, both of which have added to the foundation created by DBT to make her a well-rounded therapist that can help see and meet the needs of her clients. She believes that the most important component of mental health is human connection, and with that as her focus, she strives to create a comfortable environment for healing and growth.
