What to expect when looking for a therapist
Even in a larger metro area, openings can be limited. Low-income residents of Salt Lake County live in a federally designated mental health professional shortage area (HRSA, updated March 2026). It can help to contact several practices at once, ask about telehealth, and use your insurance plan's directory.
