Jordan Rhodes, Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC)
Jordan is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Music from Southern Utah University. Jordan’s counseling approach integrates person-centered therapy and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), emphasizing empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to create a supportive environment for clients to explore their emotions and experiences at their own pace. Additionally, Jordan utilizes DBT techniques to assist individuals in managing emotions and coping with distress effectively.
Jordan has experience in facilitating DBT groups and providing counseling to a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, children, teenagers, and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Committed to Roots Counseling’s mission of “Learn, Heal, Grow, Strengthen,” Jordan helps clients heal through meaningful connections and skill development, empowering them to cultivate resilience and personal growth.
Outside of counseling, Jordan enjoys engaging in hobbies such as Dungeons & Dragons, Historical European Martial Arts, and 3D printing. Currently residing in Orem, Utah, Jordan is happily married and shares a home with a beloved pet cat named Lady Sif.
Rob Terry, Intern Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ICMHC)
Rob’s journey from grappling with sex addiction for twenty years to achieving lasting recovery has fueled his passion for supporting others facing similar struggles. Leveraging his background in business consulting, he brings a unique blend of analytical thinking and evidence-based therapy methods to his practice. Specializing in Internal Family Systems therapy, Rob integrates mindfulness, ACT, and EMDR into his therapeutic approach, providing comprehensive support to his clients.
Certified in CSAT-C and OCSB, Rob is well-equipped to address the complexities of sex addiction and out-of-control sexual behavior. His training extends to the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol, enhancing his ability to work with clients on attachment issues. Whether providing therapy within Utah or coaching individuals worldwide, Rob draws from his master’s degree in counseling and ongoing professional development to offer effective and compassionate support.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Rob finds fulfillment in his long-standing marriage and role as a parent. His commitment to maintaining a balanced life is reflected in his hobbies, which include mountain biking and chess. Through his journey of personal growth and professional expertise, Rob continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those he serves.
Julie Terry, Intern Mental Health Counselor (ICMHC)
Julie’s profound journey through recovery from betrayal trauma fuels her unwavering dedication to supporting individuals and couples grappling with similar challenges. With over two decades of personal recovery experience, therapy, and group participation, Julie’s empathy, strength, and firsthand understanding immediately establish a sense of trust and comfort for her clients. She intimately comprehends the fear and trauma they endure, offering a relatable perspective that fosters a safe environment for healing and growth.
In her betrayal trauma healing therapy, Julie employs a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, IFS, and a Person-Centered approach. By integrating these techniques, she addresses the intricate layers of betrayal trauma, guiding clients towards healing and self-discovery with compassion and insight. From providing individual and marriage therapy in Utah to offering remote recovery coaching worldwide, Julie’s extensive qualifications—including APSATS training, coaching certifications, and currently working on a master’s degree in counseling—underscore her commitment to facilitating profound transformation in the lives of those she serves.
